Maverick

You, sir
who delivers a speech
with no practice
who
drives a car
giving a miss
to any farce
of being
an apprentice.
Why,
say you
should I waste time
and energy
testing bridges
when better things
await my blessing, ’cause
Glitches,
you say
will strike
come what may!
Trailblazing, you
leave your mark
for the rest
of us, innocent
to pick up
in your wake.
You,
my sir,
who moves on
lest any test
may reduce
the zest
of thou perfect code
running without
protection, in
production; You
my sir,
are definitely,
worth
more than a mention!

Dickinson…

Couldn’t help but post this beauty by Emily Dickinson.

FORBIDDEN fruit a flavor has
That lawful orchards mocks;
How luscious lies the pea within
The pod that Duty locks!

One could write a book, filled with her poems, titled ‘How to say the most in the least number of words’.

How do five wasted hours feel like?

Yes ‘n’ how many times does your code have to break
Before you stop coding late?
Yes ‘n’ how many hours does a man have to waste
Before he should go take a break?
Yes ‘n’ how many times does a man high five
Before he knows he missed a case?

The answer, my friend, is right in your face,
The answer is right in your face.

lest the universe catch us all astray

Although the poem itself might remind of an author caught sleeping in poetry class, this well represents a part of me today, and now is the time to pen it down.

When friends were legend did one surprise me
With the air only stale and times testing
Re defined passion and affection did he
Violent rage and autumn breeze blending

Were we vain, much to a god’s jealousy
A laugh was stolen, a smile forgotten
Every path in the vast labyrinth eerie
What belief to own, which to abandon

Fighting the odds with time leading the way
Is it the fall or is my friend back home
For only simple pleasures do we pray
Grappling today to create an epitome

Let us all herald a new dawn today
Lest the universe catch us all astray
